The Jersey government has published an overview of the personal income tax allowances and reliefs for 2019, including changes approved as part of the 2019 Budget. Changes include: The standard income tax exemption thresholds are increased from JEP 14,900 to JEP 15,400 for single persons and from JEP 23,950 to JEP 24,800 for married couples/civil partnerships (higher allowance applies for those born before 1952; The second earner’s allowance is increased from JEP 5,850 to JEP 6,000; and The higher (education) child allowance is removed. The standard 20% rate and 26% marginal relief rate are unchanged.
