Jersey has published the Companies (Demerger) (Jersey) Regulations 2018, which were made 10 July 2018 and provide a demerger regime for certain companies registered in Jersey. In general, the Regulations provide that a Jersey company may demerge into two or more Jersey companies where one is a surviving company, or all are new companies. However, a number of specific companies are not eligible to demerge or to become a demerged company under the Regulations. These are set out in Regulation 2 of the Regulations.
