According to a release from the Jersey government, Minister for External Relations, Senator Ian Gorst, held a series of high-level meetings with counterparts from Africa in London during the week of 24 January 2020. This included discussions on the negotiation of tax treaties with officials from Kenya and Nigeria. Any resulting treaties would be the first of their kind between Jersey and the respective countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
