The Jersey States Assembly has approved the Income Tax (Amendment – Stage 1 of Independent Taxation) (Jersey) Law 202-, which provides for the introduction of independent taxation for married couples and civil partners, which are currently assessed as a single unit. According to a government release on the approval, independent taxation will be compulsory for people who marry or enter into a civil partnership on or after 1 January 2022, and for all new arrivals to the Island after this date, regardless of whether they are married or single. --- States' Members approve move to Independent Taxation 16 September 2021...
