The Jersey government announced on 3 August 2021 that an amendment law has been lodged for the introduction of independent taxation for married couples and civil partners, which are currently assessed as a single unit. --- Minister lodges amendment law to tax couples independently The Minister for Treasury and Resources, Deputy Susie Pinel, has lodged an Amendment Law, which will begin the process of reform which means all taxpayers will be treated equally by the tax system.
