According to a release from the National Press Agency of Tunisia Japan's ambassador to Tunisia, Shinsuke Shimizu, stated in a press conference on 6 June that negotiations for an income tax treaty between Japan and Tunisia are ongoing. The treaty was mentioned in the context of implementing the appropriate legal framework to support the private sector and improve the business climate. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
