Jamaica Postpones Implementation of New Withholding Tax Requirements for Certain Service Payments

On 3 June 2015, the Jamaican Ministry of Finance and Planning announced that the implementation of withholding tax on certain service payments is postponed, until further notice. The 3% withholding tax on certain service payments was to be introduced from 1 June 2015 ({News-2015-05-26/A/2- previous coverage}). Further discussions will be held to examine issues raised related to the implementation of the withholding tax requirement, and the Jamaican Tax Administration will issue the revised implementation date.
