Jamaica's Ministry of Finance has issued a release announcing that the standard rate of the General Consumption Tax (GCT) has been reduced from 16.5% to 15.0% with effect from 1 April 2020. The reduction had been announced earlier as part of Jamaica's fiscal stimulus response to COVID-19 and was implemented through the Provisional Collection of Tax (General Consumption Tax) Order 2020, which was published in the Jamaica Gazette on 30 March.
