Ireland Confirms Recovery of Alleged State Aid from Apple

Ireland's Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe, has issued a release confirming that the full recovery of the alleged State Aid from Apple has been completed. The total amount recovered is EUR 14.285 billion (which is the principal amount and relevant EU interest), with the final payment made in early September. The alleged State Aid has been placed into an escrow fund with the proceeds being released only when there has been a final determination in the European Courts over the validity of the Commission’s decision that Ireland granted Apple illegal State Aid.
