The U.S. IRS has issued a release on the 7th item on its list of "Dirty Dozen" tax scams for 2022, which concerns text message, email, and phone scams. This includes the following common scams the IRS continues to see: --- Text message scams: These scams are sent to taxpayers' smartphones and can reference things like COVID-19 and/or "stimulus payments." These messages often contain bogus links claiming to be IRS websites or other online tools.
