According to a release from the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, officials from Hungary and Kyrgyzstan met on 3 May 2019 to discuss bilateral relations including ongoing negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
