HMRC have published guidance on the proposed general anti-abuse rule (GAAR). The GAAR was included in Finance Bill 2013, which is currently going through Parliament. The guidance is available on HMRC's website, and covers, inter alia, the following: - the purpose and status of the guidance; - what the GAAR is intended to achieve; - how the GAAR will operate; and - the relevant procedures to be followed in applying the GAAR.
