The Finnish Ministry of Finance has announced the launch of a public consultation on changes to reduce VAT rates. This includes supplies currently falling within the scope of the reduced VAT rate of 10% would be transferred to the scope of the reduced VAT rate of 14%. Among others, the change would apply to passenger transport, accommodation operations, guest port operations, medicines, books, sports and exercise services, and access to cultural and sporting events and performances.
