The Finnish tax administration has issued a release announcing that tax payment relief will again be provided due to the continued COVID-19 situation. This includes a reduction in interest on arrears and default interest from 7.0% to 2.5% for taxes included in facilitated payment arrangements. The reduction is available until 31 August 2021, similar to the reduction provided for payment arrangements from March to August 2020. Although the required law amendments must still be finalized and approved, the tax administration is facilitating the terms for payment arrangements with the reduced interest rate.
