On 14 November 2019, Finland's Ministry of Social Affairs and Health announced the health insurance contribution rates for 2020. For employers, the health insurance contribution rate is increased from 0.77% to 1.34%. For employees, the daily allowance contribution on gross salary is reduced from 1.54% to 1.18% for those with annual salary of at least EUR 14,574, while the rate for those with lower salary remains 0%. Further, the Medicare contribution component for employees is set at 0.68% (this was not collected in 2019, i.e., was 0%).
