Finland's Ministry of Finance has announced proposed legislation that is currently under consultation to amend the country's controlled foreign company (CFC) rules to comply with the EU Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD). Finland's CFC rules are already generally in compliance with ATAD, but amendments are needed to harmonize and extend the scope of the rules. This includes amendments with respect to jurisdictions outside of the EU/EEA, including the removal of general industry relief and tax treaty exemptions. Additional details will be published once available.
