The Finnish government has issued a release on the formation of five parliamentary committees for major reforms, including a Provincial Tax Committee. The committee's focus is on the possible introduction of new taxes at the provincial level in order to fund greater financing needs. Currently, income taxes are imposed at the national and municipal level in Finland. The committee is to run through 31 December 2020. Details of the provincial tax proposals coming out of the committee will be published once available.
