On 23 May 2018, the Finnish parliament approved the termination of the 1970 income and capital tax treaty with Portugal ({News-2018-04-16/T/3-previous coverage}). The intent is to have the treaty terminated effective 1 January 2019, which based on the provisions of the treaty, requires that Finland provide its notice of termination to Portugal before the end of June 2018.
