On 18 December 2019, Estonia published in the Official Gazette the ratification act for the pending income tax treaty with Hong Kong. The treaty, signed 25 September 2019, is the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions ({News-2019-10-08/T/2-previous coverage}). It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply in Estonia from 1 January of the year following its entry into force and in Hong Kong from 1 April of the year following its entry into force.
