On 1 October 2024, Czech President Petr Pavel signed the law for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Montenegro. The treaty, signed 20 February 2024, will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force. Once in force and effective, the treaty will replace the 2004 tax treaty between the Czech Republic and the former Serbia and Montenegro as it applies in relation to the Czech Republic and Montenegro.
