On 16 December 2022, the Croatian parliament approved a law for the introduction of an extra profits (windfall) tax that applies for sectors at a rate of 33%. The tax applies for one tax period beginning on or after 1 January 2022 for companies with total income exceeding HRK 300 million and taxable profit that is at least 20% higher than the average taxable profit in the previous four years, 2018 to 2021.
