Costa Rica's Ministry of Finance announced on 22 February 2019 that new beneficial ownership disclosure requirements will apply from September 2019. The requirements are introduced to avoid the risk of Costa Rica being included in a list of non-cooperative countries. Beginning in September, companies must declare information on the composition of their share capital and the identification of final beneficiaries to the Central Bank of Costa Rica.
