On 4 April 2025, China's Ministry of Finance announced additional tariffs in response to the reciprocal tariffs introduced by the Trump Administration. As previously reported, the U.S. tariffs include an additional 34% tariff on goods imported from China. In response, China is introducing an equal tariff of 34% on all imported goods originating in the United States on top of the current applicable tariff rate from 10 April 2025. Goods shipped before 10 April 2025 and imported by 13 May 2025, however, will not be subject to the additional tariff.
