On 3 May 2018, Chile's Chamber of Deputies approved the pending tax information exchange agreements with Bermuda and Jersey. Both agreements were signed by Chile on 24 June 2016 and by Bermuda and Jersey on 21 July 2016 and are the first of their kind between Chile and the respective jurisdictions. The agreements will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged, and generally apply from the date of their entry into force. However, the agreement with Bermuda will apply in respect of information on certain banking transactions occurring on or after 1 January 2010.
