According to an update from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, officials from Cape Verde and Hong Kong completed the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty on 26 January 2024. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
