The Bulgarian parliament is considering a draft bill submitted on 14 October 2020 that would provide tax relief for minimum wage employees. This includes a personal income tax exemption for individuals when two conditions are met: The individual only derives income from employment during the year; and The income derived during the year does not exceed 12 minimum monthly wages for the respective year. Whether the conditions are met, and the relief can be claimed, would be declared as part of the annual tax return.
