On 4 February 2020, Bulgaria published the decree for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Pakistan. The treaty, signed 21 May 2019 ({News-2020-01-28/T/2-previous coverage}), is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply in Bulgaria from 1 January of the year following its entry into force and in Pakistan from 1 July of the year following its entry into force.
