The Bhutan government has reportedly authorized the tax authority to provide further relief for taxpayers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including for the tourism and allied sectors (hotels, airlines, and tour operators) and the entertainment sector. This includes deferrals for the payment of business income tax (BIT) and corporate income tax (CIT), as well as the possibility of paying tax due in installments. Applications for the relief are accepted during the period July to December 2021 and will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
