The Belarus Ministry of Taxes and Duties has issued guidance on the application of Council Resolution No. 164 of 7 March 2024. As previously reported, the resolution: Introduced an increased tax rate of 25% on dividends and similar income of foreign companies not operating through a permanent establishment in Belarus if located in an "unfriendly" country, which applies from 1 April 2024 to 31 December 2026; and Suspended the provisions regarding dividends, interest, and capital gains in the tax treaties with 27 countries, which applies from 1 June 2024 to 31 December 2026.
