According to a release from the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bangladesh Foreign Minister met with Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) officials on 23 August 2021. During the meeting, BUSA was requested to facilitate the process for concluding an income tax treaty between Bangladesh and South Africa. Discussions on negotiations first began in 2015. Any resulting treaty will be the first of its kind between the two counties and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
