On 16 May 2022, the Bangladesh National Board of Revenue (NBR) issued a letter on the extension of the deadline for the filing of income tax returns by companies for the 2021-2022 assessment year (2020-2021 income year ended 30 June 2021). The letter provides that the deadline has been extended to 15 June 2022. The standard deadline for the year ending 30 June 2021 was 15 January 2022, although the NBR had reportedly allowed a prior extension to 15 May 2022.
