On 19 June 2017, the Bangladesh Council of Ministers approved the ratification of the pending income tax treaties with Bahrain and Kuwait. The tax treaty with Bahrain, signed 22 December 2015, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged ({News-2016-01-04/T/6- previous coverage}). The tax treaty with Kuwait, signed 19 February 2014, is also the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged ({News-2015-02-02/T/2- previous coverage}).
