On 15 July 2020, Austria's Federal Council (upper house of parliament) approved the bill for the ratification of the pending protocol to the 1997 tax treaty with Ukraine. The bill was approved by the National Council (lower house) on 7 July. The protocol, signed 15 June 2020, includes changes to bring the treaty in line with OECD BEPS standards, as well as amendments to the withholding tax rates on dividends, interest, and royalties, and other changes ({News-2020-06-29/T/6-previous coverage}).
