On 19 January 2021, the Armenian parliament approved the law for the ratification of the pending tax residency agreement with Kazakhstan. The Agreement, signed 22 August 2018, provides for simplified procedures for confirming tax residency under the 2006 tax treaty between the two countries. The agreement will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply retroactively to official documents issued by authorized bodies of the two countries from 1 January 2012.
