On 28 November 2018, Algeria published in the Official Gazette the decree for the ratification of the pending protocol to the 1980 social security agreement with France. The protocol, signed 10 April 2016, mainly concerns the application of health/medical benefits. It is the first to amend the agreement and will enter into force and effect on the first day of the second month after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
