According to recent reports, the Afghanistan Revenue Department has extended the deadlines for the submission of individual and corporate tax returns and payment to 20 May 2020 to provide relief in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Normally, returns and payment are due within 3 months after the end of year, which would be 20 March based on the standard year ending 20 December. With the extension, no late filing or late payment penalties will be imposed as long as returns are filed, and payments are made by 20 May.
