Abolition of income tax reform and other tax measures adopted

On 26 March 2008, the parliament adopted the income tax reform proposals, which were scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2009. However, on 20 November 2008, the parliament adopted amendments abolishing the income tax reform and introducing other changes to the Income Tax Law (ITL). The adopted amendments take effect on 1 January 2009. The most important amendments are summarized below. Withholding taxes The withholding tax on dividend payments to non-residents is abolished.
