According to a post from the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Bangladesh and Singapore met on 14 April 2024 and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties and agreed to work towards concluding an amending protocol to the 1980 income tax treaty between the two countries. Any resulting protocol would be the first to amend the treaty and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
