E-invoicing implementation was planned to be launched in three phases. The pilot phase, where 43 companies joined, followed by voluntary adoption, and finally the mandate, when e-invoicing becomes mandatory for every company.   Panama is currently in the voluntary adoption phase. This means that each company that wants to join the model, has to apply with and get approval from the DGI.
