According to recent reports, Venezuela published Executive Decree 4619 in the Official Gazette on 1 June 2021, which provides exemptions from VAT and customs duties on the import of medical equipment and other goods to combat COVID-19. These exemptions apply from 1 June 2021 to 31 December 2021. Executive Decree 4619 also provides exemptions from VAT and customs duties on the import of certain equipment and goods for the information technology, telecommunications, and automotive industries. These exemptions also generally apply from 1 June to 31 December 2021, although the exemptions expire 31 August 2021 for the automotive industry.
