Venezuela Extends Suspension of Administrative and Judicial Terms Due to COVID-19 and Provided VAT Exemption for Needed Goods

Venezuela reportedly published Decree No. 4,186 in the Official Gazette on 12 April 2020, which extends the state of emergency due to COVID-19 from 13 April to 13 May 2020. Along with the extension of the state of emergency, the suspension of administrative and judicial terms/deadlines are also extended to 13 May 2020. A VAT exemption has also been provided on the import of goods needed for dealing with COVID-19, including masks, disinfectants, medicines, etc. The resolution providing the exemption is effective from 3 April 2020.
