On 29 January 2019, Venezuela's Constituent National Assembly approved three constitutional decrees that include revisions to the Tax Code, VAT Law, and Customs Law. One of the main changes is to the VAT law, which is the introduction of an additional tax rate of 5% to 25% on payments for goods or services in foreign currencies or in cryptocurrencies not supported by the government.
