On 23 August 2023, the Ukraine parliament approved the bill for the termination of the 1996 tax treaty with Iran. The bill must now be signed into law by the president and published in the Official Gazette to enter into force. As per the terms of the treaty, the termination would apply from 1 January 2025, at the earliest, if the notice of termination is given by the end of June 2024.
