Stella Nyapendi, the Assistant Commissioner for Policy and Rulings of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), reportedly announced on 24 October 2019 that Uganda has begun the process of revising its income tax treaties to provide more equitable taxation in Uganda and reduce evasion. The first treaties to be revised include the 2003 tax treaty with Mauritius and the 2004 tax treaty with the Netherlands.
