UK HMRC has issued guidance on paying the new Soft Drinks Industry Levy and claiming a credit for amounts overpaid. The levy was introduced as part of the Finance Act 2017 and commenced on 6 April 2018. Returns and payment for the levy are made on a quarterly basis, with the first returns due the end of July 2018 in respect of the quarter ending June.
