On 23 December 2008, the German Ministry of Finance advised that the negotiations for an income and capital tax treaty between Germany and the United Arab Emirates were successfully concluded during the latest round of negotiations on 22 and 23 December 2008. The treaty will be signed shortly. Further details will be reported subsequently. Note. Once signed and in force, the new treaty will "replace" the Germany-United Arab Emirates income and capital tax treaty and protocol of 9 April 1995. The 1995 treaty ceased to exist as of 1 January 2009.
