The Assistant Treasurer announced on 25 January 2007 that the government was inviting comments and submissions on Australia's tax treaties. In particular, the Treasury is interested in submissions dealing with the countries with which Australia may find it desirable to negotiate a new or update an existing tax treaty and on the appropriateness of the existing tax treaty policy and drafting approaches, as reflected in recent treaties.
