On 13 December 2023, the Senate of the Philippines adopted the resolution for the ratification of the pending social security agreement with South Korea. The agreement, signed 25 November 2019, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force on the first day of the third month after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
