On 22 January 2018, the Philippine Senate approved the ratification of the pending social security agreements with Germany and Sweden. The agreement with Germany, signed 19 September 2014, is the first of its kind between two the countries and will enter into force on the first day of the third month following the exchange of the ratification instruments. The agreement with Sweden, signed 15 October 2015, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force on the first day of the fourth month following the exchange of the ratification instruments.
