On 22 July 2009, the parliament adopted amendments to the Corporate Income Tax Law and the Individual Income Tax Law. The amendments were published in the Official Gazette of 4 August 2009. Unless otherwise indicated below, the amendments generally apply from 1 January 2010. Corporate taxation (a) Withholding taxes. Currently, interest paid to foreign companies is generally subject to a 10% withholding tax (WHT). The amendments abolish the application a WHT on interest paid to recipients registered or otherwise established in European Economic Area Member State, or in a country, with which Lithuania has an effective tax treaty.
